Fun Around Town

Ann Arbor is a hoot and a half! There are plenty of places to eat and explore around town. Here is a map showing a few of our favorites.

🏠 Lodging

We've reserved a limited number of discounted rooms at two Ann Arbor hotels.

Rooms at The Graduate in downtown Ann Arbor, where the reception will be held and where we'll be staying, can be booked using this link.

Unfortunately we have had some issues using the group code via the Graduate's phone reservation line, so booking online is best if at all possible.

Rooms are also available at the Hampton Inn Ann Arbor West, a 10-15 minute drive west of downtown. Use code "GWW" when booking online or by phone at (734) 994-1100.

Transportation to the wedding ceremony will be provided from both of these hotels.

You're also welcome to find your own AirBnB or other hotel around town. All of the wedding events will be within 1-2 miles of downtown Ann Arbor, so staying close to downtown will be most convenient. For AirBnBs, Kerrytown, Old West Side, Water Hill, and Burns Park are all great neighborhoods to stay in.

🗺️ Travel

✈️ Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is a 30-45 minute drive from Ann Arbor and is the best option for flying in.

🚗 Car rentals and rideshare (Uber, Lyft) are available at DTW. Rideshare fare from DTW to AA is usually around $60.

🚌 The Michigan Flyer is an excellent and convenient bus service which makes the trip directly from the airport terminal to downtown Ann Arbor for about $15. Schedule

Are kids invited?

Unfortunately we aren't able to accommodate kids at the ceremony or reception. If you're interested in bringing your little ones to Ann Arbor, we'd love to help you find a local babysitter. Please reach out to us! Kids are welcome at the Friday night Welcome Party and the Sunday brunch.

What is the attire?

Semi-formal. Keep in mind the ceremony will be outside in a park, so you may want grass-appropriate footwear and a jacket.

Do we need a car?

If you're staying at the Graduate or elsewhere in downtown Ann Arbor, you can easily reach many restaurants and amenities on foot. If you are staying farther out in the city (for example, at the Hampton Inn), you can get downtown easily via rideshare. If you’d like to explore more of the surrounding area, a car may be useful.

Is there parking at Island Park for the ceremony?

There is very limited parking at Island Park, so we recommend using one of the provided shuttles. If driving to Island Park, you may need to park in the overflow lot at the East end of the park and walk over (~1/4 mile).
